How to Apply

Application and Selection Process
All Harvard Law students entering their second year are eligible to apply. Interested students must register at the registration table at the Hark or by e-mailing Alana Greer by March 23, 2010. The initial application consists of a written analysis of a fact pattern simulating a typical Bureau case, submission of a cover letter and resume. The application does not require any outside research or knowledge of a specific area of substantive law. One of the primary purposes of the application process is to allow students to illustrate the strength of their interest in the Bureau and to give the student an accurate portrayal of the type of work they would do as a Bureau member.

The essay question will be evaluated by current Bureau members under a double blind grading system. Applicants will also be asked to submit a cover letter and resume separately. The Bureau is committed to maintaining a diverse membership for the benefit of the organization and our clients. Based on all of these materials, a group of finalists will be selected for interviews and approximately twenty-five offers of membership will be extended.
