Distinguished Alumni Award

Every other year, the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau recognizes the achievements of an outstanding alumnus in awarding the Distinguished Alumni Award. All former members of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau who have been alumni for at least the last fifteen years are eligible to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Award Criteria

  • Distinguished achievements in the practice of law or other chosen profession
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values and mission of the Legal Aid Bureau over the years
  • Dedication to public service and community involvement through professional and pro bono activities

Nomination Process

Any member of the Legal Aid Bureau community of students, clinical instructors, staff and alumni many nominate any eligible alumnus/a of the Bureau to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award. The nomination should include a brief description of the nominee’s qualifications and achievements, how he or she satisfies the award criteria and his or her years of membership in the Bureau. All nominations should be received by December 1, 2010. Nominations can be emailed to alumni@harvardlegalaid.org or sent to:
